On February 13th 2004 I had both of my femurs rodded with the F-D rods.   These telescoping rods will grow with me and hopefully will keep my bones straight and help prevent fractures.    I was only splinted for 2 weeks and was crawling in 2 1/2 weeks , walking behind push toys at 3 1/2 weeks and walking independently at 6 weeks postop.  I was back to running by 8 weeks(YIKES).

After the surgery I gained 2 inches and I am now 31 inches and 21 1/2 lbs.  I am 20 months and I say lots and understand even more.  I am not following the OI manuel as I hardly ever fatigue and am now running up to 1000ft at a time.  My bone density is now +0.9(normal -2 to +2).
